About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join M&S Opticians, as an Optometrist. To be suitable for the role you’ll need to be registered as an Optometrist with the General Optical Council (GOC) and National Performers List.
As an Optometrist you’ll examine patients’ eyes, give advice on visual problems and prescribe and fit glasses and/or contact lenses where needed. You’ll have the ability to recognise eye diseases, such as glaucoma and cataract, as well as general health conditions such as diabetes.
Your role will be to provide an efficient optometry service ensuring every customer receives excellent care. You’ll need to be friendly, approachable, polite and helpful, comfortable woking as part of a team and able to answer questions and queries by utilising your excellent optical knowledge.
About you
This role requires a committed, organised, excellent clinical decision maker with the ability to use professional judgement.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to put anxious patients at ease and strong written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate at various levels.
A willingness to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to keep up to date and participate in any enhanced schemes such as MECS/PEARS, diabetic screening, IOP refinement.
